Tim Aves and WOLFPACK

HOWLIN' Wolf was the biggest, baddest, evilest bluesman ever to stalk the earth. There'll never be another like him...simple as that. WOLFPACK (yes, the name is meant ALWAYS to be spelled out in capital letters – and NO definite article, please!) play the music of Wolf and other blues greats with reverence, but also a giant slice of 21st-century Essex attitude. WOLFPACK are fronted by acclaimed writer and broadcaster TIM AVES (Rockin' Armadillos, Automatic Slim), with twice British Blues Award-nominated guitarist JOEL FISK (Hokie Joint), ROB “Tank” BARRY (bass) and PAUL LESTER (drums)

The tough, scary blues of Howlin' Wolf is central to the WOLFPACK repertoire, though it touches artistes as diverse as Hound Dog Taylor, The Red Devils, ZZ Top and the ARC Angels, seasoned with a growing list of original tunes. Numerous appearances at festivals and clubs the length of the UK have cemented a reputation as a truly great live band with virtuosity to die for - and a powerful, dynamic, nuanced approach which makes an old music sound brand new. The debut 2011 CD, "The WOLFPACK Burnham Sessions" enjoyed worldwide airplay and widespread acclaim. Available on iTunes and other online retailers of note, the follow-up, "Never Saw Chester", is provisionally due in December 2013/January2014. Eric Steiner President of the Washington State Blues Society and a board member of the America’s Blues Foundation, on WOLFPACK’s first album: “If the Chicago Blues Festival needed a band to honor Howlin’ Wolf’s memory, I’d highly recommend Tim Aves & WOLFPACK. They’ve captured the soul, the passion and artistry of Howlin’ Wolf.”
